Everything is Relative

When we lived in southern California, if we wanted to take a walk at night and the thermometer read 45°F, we thought it was crazy cold. We’d put sweat pants on over our pants. We’d get our heaviest coats and put on hats and scarves. Our warmest gloves were an absolute must.

Living here in Wyoming now, when the thermometer reads 35°F in the middle of the day, I think wow, it’s really warm. I should take our dog for a walk. I’ll only need a light jacket and my thin gloves. Nice!

All of life is like that. It’s about what you are accustomed to. It’s all relative to that. The important thing to remember is that what you are accustomed to is subject to change.

That’s my thought for the day.

  1. You are so right when you say what you’re accustomed to can change. The older we get the harder it is! As for the weather, we are currently living in Iowa half the time in North Carolina the other half! So we have some extremes too!

    1. I hope the half that is in North Carolina is in the winter. 🙂 Of course, with the changes in the prevailing weather, that might not be all that great either.

My sister lives in Murfreesboro (not to far from Smyrna) TN and that storm was a real mess.

We just do the best we can where we are.

      Thanks for reading and commenting!
