What is Romance

The daily writing prompt for today asks us for our definition of what is romantic.

So much of what we think is influenced for us by movies, television, books and, sadly (to my way of thinking), by Internet influencers, that I wonder if anyone really has any idea what constitutes romance and what makes something romantic or not.

So shoot me, but I’ve never had much use for the typical trappings of romance. You know, candle lit dinners either at home or in some fine restaurant. Maybe you like roses on Valentine’s Day, or any day for that matter. That sort of thing has never meant much to me.

What means the most to me is the daily expression of love and caring. When my husband knows that the ribs I broke years ago are giving me particular trouble (as they are right now), he’ll do the dishes so I don’t have to stand at the sink. I don’t have to ask. He just knows.

To me, that means more than anything else I could imagine.

About Me
Getting outdoors. One of my favorite things

I’m Dianne, the creator and author of this blog. I started blogging in order to promote my novels. But I discovered I really enjoy reaching out to the world through my blog. I’m curious and I seek answers to all sorts of things. Writing about what interests me helps me to explore the world and all the people in it. I especially enjoy the comments from readers and how they illuminate the topics under discussion.
