I’m not a prophet. I don’t have a lock on the future. All I have is past events to inform me.

With that in mind, I figure that 2024 will be a lot like 2023. There will be disputes about this and that. Some of them will be violent. There will be deaths. Some will be near and dear and others remote but still moving. The economy will go up or it will go down. Americans will complain about China. The Chinese will complain about Americans. The presidential campaign will be a mess. Maybe even more of a mess than usual. There will be some new scientific and medical discoveries. Some things will get more expensive and some things will get cheaper. Et cetera, et cetera.

But for the most part, most of us will just roll along, living our lives the best that we can and there is not really very much that will change that. It’s been that way for centuries.

And that’s my thought for the day.
